Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging
Since the inception of the Centre of Activity and Ageing in 1989 and the subsequent incorporation of the CCAA, the Centre has developed an extensive community outreach arm to develop strategies to promote the independence of older adults. These initiatives include prototype physical activity programs and leadership training courses for older adults. There is a gymnasium for the development of model community physical activity programs and for the training of fitness leaders.
The CCAA is a research centre within the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Western Ontario and is affiliated with St. Joseph's Health Care of London, and Lawson Health Research Institute.
