Please join us for the first CCAA Musculoskeletal Health Webinar with Dr. Frank Beier from the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Beier's presentation entitled Genes and Joints will illustrate how genetic factors influence osteoarthritis, how we can use genetic tools to better understand osteoarthritis and to ultimately develop better treatments.

Short Researcher Biography | Dr. Frank Beier

Dr. Beier was appointed an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology & Pharmacology at The University of Western Ontario in 2001. In 2002 he was appointed an Associate Scientist of Children's Health Research Institute in the Developmental Biology program and in 2008 was appointed to Scientist. Dr. Beier also teaches in Western's Graduate Program in Developmental Biology and was awarded the Dean's Award of Excellence for Graduate Student Teaching in 2008. Dr. Beier holds a Tier II Canada Research Chair in Musculoskeletal Health. For more information read Dr. Beier's full biography here.

Tax Changes

Effective April 21, 2010, the Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging will be charging GST (Goods & Services Tax -5%) on all course registration fees, course materials, renewals & certifications.  Effective July 1, 2010, HST (Harmonized Sales Tax- 13%) will be charged.
